We still wait on Charles Church customer service to fix our new home. We wonder if some areas of the country with Persimmon Homes or Charles Church, are worse than others. Is Scotland doing better than Cornwall, is Hampshire doing better than York.

But will this result in change within the building industry, in particular for the protection of new home owners. Our battle to get even the simplist snagging issues resolved is nearing the 4 year mark. It’s not unusual for the more serious defects to take 5-7 years to resolve, with legal action being an all too common path to persuade the builder to meet their obligations.

I would advise anyone considering a new home from Charles Church or Persimmon Homes to carefully review customer complaints in newspaper, tv programs and on the internet. Be aware most home owners are very worried about their complaints having a negative effect on the value of their investment in their new home, and thus they are unlikely to complain, or if they do, will water down their views to make them sound not so bad.
