Some alarming reports on Taylor Wimpey plc & Bryant Homes Customer Experiences.

BBC report on Bryant Homes, now owned by Taylor Wimpey. I can relate to the quote “they have a survey that highlights that nearly 90% of customers would recommend a Taylor Wimpey home to their friends”. Watch the BBC video clip, maybe have a tissue ready, it’s heartbreaking what is happening in the UK house building market.

Now a home owners website, which for this one, I won’t won’t repeat the web address for obvious reasons, but follow the link to find out what happened after county court judgement. Again Bryant Homes, ownedby Taylor Wimpey.

Check out the legal thoughts of this home owner, regarding signing developers own snagging document (common when ones first moves in and takes the keys), and how to go to court without spending a penny.

Nearly 4 years on, and still Charles Church are delaying and misleading. We have serious structural issues with flooring, and these issues our similar to other homes, with complaints for such issues going back over 10 years with Charles Church. Persimmon Management procedures have not made the situation better, merely more delays.

Visit this link for an unhappy Persimmon Homes customer. I hear similar unhappy experiences, time and time again.

And for more on floor issues at Persimmon Homes. Vibration, springy, bouncy floors are an issue that can be very expensive to put right after occupation. It might cost £25k-£55k after build, yet only £150-£450 to fix when specifying the design and at construction stage. Plus of course the wasted time and trouble for the home owner, of moving them out or pulling ceilings down while they remain in the home.

The Times News Paper article on a particular type of new home fraud is rather concerning. Persimmon Homes are mentioned in the article concerning fraud, and the lack of police resource was cited in the article.

  • Bob: Perhaps the New Home Builders are enjoying the econmic climate a bit TOO MUCH :(
  • M. Farley: Walked around a new Charles Church Show Home last week, and found same issues discussed above, noisy bouncy floors. when will they fix this? From read
  • Debbie Brown: Neat idea! Can't beat something that makes cake easier to eat and carry.
