Charles Church ‘Flagship’ Development

Posted on: September 7, 2009

More news on Charles Church, and new development at Machynys West.

My advice is buyer beware, and dot all your i’s and cross your t’s. If you can get them to agree to your side holding back a retention (Bovis still do), usually 5-15%, but for Charles Church, my experience suggests 25-35% is more appropriate.

A different example – an extension – but one which mirrors the pitfalls we found in trying to get Charles Church to rectify faults, and after many years we are still trying and still waiting on them.

If they really beleive in their marketing statements, then they surely would have no problem with this. When holding back a retention, you have some ability to get them to honour their warranty and marketing statements.
